It's a shame the price on-site wasn't the same as the online price (which was cheaper). You inevitably book your stay online and then, after calling, you expect the same price: what a nasty surprise! The restaurant bill wasn't itemized on the invoice either. A pity, because everything else was fantastic. A wonderful, dynamic team… a special mention for the amazing buckwheat "lumberjack bread" and the magnificent breakfast (both in its contents and the sea view). A truly wonderful stay, thank you!
Two wonderful days during this recovery period with my husband. The only downside was that the room didn't face the sea, but the restaurant did, which was very pleasant. The meals were delicious, as was the breakfast.

The welcome was excellent, the room was well-equipped and clean but a little small. We were a bit surprised because we couldn't shower when we returned in the evening; there was no hot water. A romantic weekend getaway after the Christmas holidays in a fantastic location with amazing weather! The staff were professional and incredibly attentive, whether in the hotel, bar, or restaurant. Dinner and breakfast were wonderful. A huge THANK YOU to the entire team!!!

Fabulous location, decent room, comfortable bed. The bathroom is just adequate, especially the shower, which is very impractical and the water wasn't always hot enough. There was a bit of unnecessary clutter in the already tiny closet; it doesn't look clean, which is a shame. A throw blanket would have been nice. Finally, it's very regrettable that the restaurant doesn't offer a simpler dining option, with two or three basic dishes, for days when you don't feel like a gourmet meal; you're forced to drive and go elsewhere, which is a real shame considering the exceptional potential of the cuisine, especially since there's a small room opposite reception that would be perfectly suited for this purpose.

An exceptional stay! The rooms are impeccably clean and the welcome is warm from the moment we arrive. The location is ideal: the hotel is literally on the waterfront, offering a magnificent sea view. The restaurant is worthy of a gourmet establishment, with fresh and flavorful ingredients. The breakfast is equally remarkable, varied, and of high quality. The staff is incredibly attentive and available at all times. This place has become my go-to home base for future trips to the region. I highly recommend it!
We were given rooms with sloping ceilings. The comfort in these rooms isn't great. The space under the eaves is limited, making it difficult for taller people. Furthermore, the doors separating the bathroom and the bedroom are extremely heavy. We don't understand why; it's uncomfortable to have to use force to open them. The water pressure in the shower is minimal. A shower is manageable, but shampooing long hair... the reduced pressure is far outweighed by the length of the wash. This kind of inconvenience quickly becomes irritating. The reception staff is friendly and their responsiveness is excellent. The bedding is comfortable.

A truly wonderful experience. The location is exceptional. The quality of the food we sampled for breakfast and dinner was near perfect, both in terms of ingredients and preparation. The staff's welcome was also excellent. However, it should be noted that the hotel could have informed us of the ongoing construction work, which was quite disruptive for us as we were traveling by bus. The cleanliness was quite exceptional. Perhaps in the future, they could consider reducing the noise from the kitchen ventilation system for the nearby rooms?

At the top
First of all, our studio only had a leftover end of toilet paper. The lights on the bedside tables had no plugs :-( One of the plugs near the console is coming out of its cover. Cigarette butts on the terrace. There is also a noise, something banging on the ceiling or next to it, very disturbing in the afternoon and from 8 a.m. in the morning. So I would say that apart from the setting (and when the weather is nice) the hotel is nothing exceptional. I had the same feeling when I came 6 to 7 years ago. I wanted to try the experience again but it really wasn't that great. Out of habit, I book on booking and generally find it cheaper than on hotel websites. There is an overcharge of at least €60 on booking. I paid €220 and it's not worth it.

Top-notch hotel and restaurant. The only downside is that there is no secure bike storage in the establishment, which is a shame for such an establishment. Cyclists are customers like any other! I felt a (slight) disregard when I asked if there was a bike storage room....
Everything is perfect, it's a joy to be able to go from the room to the terrace and from the terrace to the beach and the sea view, without seeing any cars. Peaceful setting in the middle of nature with the sea on one side and vegetation on the other. If I want to look for a small downside, I would say that I prefer white bread for breakfast than country bread but there wasn't any.

Je déplore qu'il n'y est pas de mouchoirs en papier dans la chambre pour un hôtel 3 étoiles, j'ai déjà eu ce genre de service dans un hôtel 2 étoiles.
Dans la salle de bain, les portes serviettes sont sur la porte de la salle de bain, la porte était sale, donc nous avons changé tous les jours de serviettes.
Le placard de la chambre est trop petit pour ranger les affaires de 2 personnes.
Les verres d'eau dans la chambre n'ont pas été changés durant notre séjour de 6 nuits.
Il n'y a pas de plateaux pour se servir au petit déjeuner.

We asked for gluten-free bread for breakfast. We were served normal bread and told it was gluten-free.
Too much noise at night due to some kind of kitchen ventilation that could be heard even though the French window was closed, which also made it hot in the bedroom.

Hotel ideally located on the beach. Exceptional location! Very pleasant terrace for a drink. Excellent restaurant. Kindness and efficiency of the staff. The big downside is that the rooms do not overlook the sea. You can just see it on the side.. Very limited space in the room and especially the presence of a blower on the roof that you can hear very well (we overlooked the parking lot) and noise from deliveries in the morning with cooking smells (even if delicious)!
Everything is great! The rooms are quiet, and the staff is attentive. However, there is a lack of assistance when settling in if you have luggage. Getting from the parking lot to the rooms with heavy suitcases is not easy and requires several trips back and forth.

The setting is magical, but the restaurant takes precedence over the hotel. I had the misfortune of wanting to have a coffee outside at the start of the evening service and I was thrown out by a waiter as if I were a stranger...fortunately another waiter arrived and allowed me to drink a coffee in front of the sea. In addition, there is no "rest" terrace with welcoming deckchairs, in fact it is more of a luxury "dormitory" than a hotel. You feel that the priority is only the restaurant...

A well-located hotel on the seafront, promoting peace and quiet, which unfortunately was not the case in our room, located next to their air conditioning system. Constant noise at night, even with the window closed.
Very good experience. Perhaps the corridor of the rooms downstairs needs to be ventilated or a specific product that smells good and is naturally hygienic should be used because of the damp smell. Our room, called a studio, is too close to the air conditioning and kitchen. The small garden in the room needs to be better insulated from the air conditioning motor in the restaurant and back kitchen, as well as the rear parking lot. Otherwise, the overall service over 3 days was very good.
Air conditioning will become a necessity.... Parking is rather insufficient in high season. Room 209 is noisy if the window is open in summer and the surface area is very small... Breakfast price is rather expensive in comparison. Pleasant stay nonetheless (ideal location).

Ideal location, but the hotel doesn't live up to expectations. All the investment in staff and space is focused on the restaurant, to the detriment of the hotel's guests. The rooms are very basic. Housekeeping leaves something to be desired.
It's a shame to hear the noise of washing machines or dishwashers in the room after 11:00 p.m. The noise of chairs or tables being moved after 11:00 p.m.

Hôtel les Mouettes is in such a beautiful location. This was our third stay there and we've enjoyed it every time. The staff are always very helpful and friendly. The food is exceptional.
Very well located, very clean hotel. The welcome is warm in both the restaurant and the bar. The food is delicious and offers local products. The rooms are comfortable. The bedding is impeccable. Our room was a little small, but the location of the hotel means we spend as much time as possible outside, especially when the weather is hot and sunny. It's a shame that no room has a sea view, but that's how the construction is done!! We will definitely come back to this establishment.

Everything is calm and cozy in this establishment. The aesthetics aren't just decor: behind it, everyone takes great care of you. The dishes are delicious, the employees are all attentive to your every need, and the smiles aren't forced. You get the feeling that everyone is as delighted as we are to be here. I don't know which team is in charge of this hotel, but I'm sure they take as much care of their employees as they do their guests. It shows. People are happy. Even unusual requests are taken into account: "Oysters for you tomorrow for breakfast? Fine. What time?" I was amazed. A special thank you to the people behind the scenes who we don't think about enough: the maintenance people. The rooms are impeccable: I almost left a €50 bill and a card with a heart. I thought it was inappropriate. Thank you so much! I'll be back. PS: The restaurant's prices are moderately high, but not excessive. The recipes are amazing. Thanks also to the kitchen!

104 euros with your feet in the water, it's great
Restaurant guests are given priority over hotel guests. The parking lot near the hotel should be reserved exclusively for hotel guests, while restaurant guests should only use the parking lot located to the right of the road leading to the hotel. The room wasn't cleaned on the first day, and the dust behind the television is apparently never cleaned. The lack of air conditioning isn't compensated for by the excellent fan provided. The breakfast hours are wide enough to accommodate everyone. However, the savory section lacks vegetables (tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, potatoes, even dips), and the sweet section is seriously lacking in crepes for a hotel in Brittany...

Every vacation I come to spend a night at Les Mouettes. I am never disappointed. The welcome and the services are very professional. I never tire of this magnificent view of Groix and the walk to Larmor beach.
For a three-night stay, it's unfortunate that we had to settle for the à la carte menu. The choices were too limited. Other than that, the other services were all very pleasant.

We had a pleasant stay at this establishment. The hotel's location near the beach is remarkable. The restaurant is a great place to share. The breakfast overlooking the sea is generous and puts you in a good mood. The rooms are a bit small, but the amenities are those of a three-star hotel.

Exceptional location on the waterfront. Delicious restaurant and breakfast. Very small and charmless room, due to ugly materials. Thick and hard pillows. Air conditioning would have been welcome. Finally, I would have liked help with my luggage since there is no elevator. Could be improved. Nevertheless, the stay was pleasant and welcoming.
The hotel's location is magnificent, with direct access to the beach opposite the island of Groix. The staff is charming and very attentive to guests. The hotel is very clean. The rooms are very comfortable. The restaurant is superbly located facing the sea. The food is also very good. A real thank you to the whole team; we had a pleasant stay.
A lovely stopover! We enjoyed the terrace overlooking the beach, coffee in the morning and an aperitif in the evening. The meals are delicious.
Magnificent view. The location is incredible, but... The size of the room is ridiculous. The micro-terrace overlooks the parking lot with the nuisances that go with it. My room was located under a busy area opposite the kitchens and I admit that I didn't really appreciate the restoration of the dining room after 11 p.m. The restaurant also closes at 11:30 p.m. which is not suitable because the last guests happily fill the hotel with sound. The price is clearly unsuitable given the quality of service, which is, after all, very ordinary. Clearly more than €170 for an overnight stay with, yes, an extra bottle of tap water (bubbled) for €6: that's bordering on theft. Very "cheap" breakfast, buffet placed in a dark place with pastries straight from the freezer. Very basic products apart from homemade bread and dairy products. To summarize the service; It's a standard hotel, yes, with a magnificent view, very, very expensive but magnificent. And for your information, we have the right to ask the customer if their stay went well, this avoids reviews of this type. Best regards

Very good restaurant. Rooms are rather small and have sloping ceilings (be careful of your head). Dust is frequent, especially behind the TV. However, it is acceptable.

Another stay at the Hotel Restaurant Les Mouettes for our 10th wedding anniversary. 2 meals and 2 nights. Our last stay was 3-4 years ago. There have been big changes in the meantime, the staff has also changed a lot, but the quality is still there. Thank you for your welcome and your professionalism. We had a very, very pleasant stay. Rooms: still as pleasant. Good bedding, clean, comfortable, and beautiful sea view (not front view because the rooms do not face the sea). Small negative points: a door problem upon our arrival but partially resolved by the receptionist, thank you to him. We appreciated the small coffee while we were waiting for the repair. We were surprised to find the cleaning lady in our room when we returned from breakfast at 10 a.m. She was very pleasant and professional, but it surprised us. And cleaning the stairs while guests are still there is a shame to have to walk in the areas that have been cleaned. Being under the roof, we were hot at night. Breakfast: always perfect with choice and quality. We were able to have it on the terrace. Thanks to the waitress for providing us with trays after a second request (first request made to the receptionist who told us that there were no more trays, too bad). The bread is to die for, fresh and crispy, quality charcuterie. A treat. Too bad there were no more pastries from 9:30 a.m. Meal We were a little worried about the change of chef given the new menu and the new prices. But we were quickly won over. We had the charcuterie plate (1 for 2 and fortunately given the quantity). The charcuterie is exceptional, with the aperitif on the terrace it was perfect. You managed to make me love andouille at 40 years old 🤣 For the dishes, we tried a fish, the duck and the prime rib, everything was perfect both in terms of cooking and quality. The meat was exceptionally tender. The prime rib is worth the detour. It was a treat. Too bad about the vegetables that we have to take all 3 options, if we don't like one, it's a waste. And the 5 euro portion of fries is a bit expensive. We tried 4 desserts, very good. Special mention for the birthday candle during our last meal. This attention surprised and touched us because we didn't expect it. The wines tested were also very good. 1st meal, the servers were very active and even a little too pushy (that's the feeling we had). The 2nd meal, the wait was quite long. We were able to take our time... We had the impression of having had 2 completely different services. A happy medium between the 2 would have been perfect. On the other hand, we feel the change, it's a little more upscale in the service. Thank you again for this pleasant stay facing the sea and see you soon. We will come back...

We really appreciated the welcome and friendliness of the staff, the quality of the facilities in general including the room and the bathroom, quality bedding. Downside for the shower, the dimensions a little tight. Downside also for the lack of an elevator. High price of breakfast and catering.

Austere, impersonal and noisy room.
This hotel is located on the beach and offers magnificent views. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The only drawback for us was the price of drinks and the restaurant in the evening. The cocktails were expensive and the mojito had very little alcohol. The dinner was good quality but very expensive.
Very, very satisfied. Well done. One small drawback: I had requested and confirmed my reservation for a large bed and I received two beds. But this did not disrupt our stay in any way.

A wonderful, friendly, and comfortable hotel situated idyllically on the beach overlooking a beautiful bay. Parking was secure and perfect for those touring by car. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive, ensuring our break here was as relaxing as possible. The room was spacious, clean, and dark at night. The restaurant was excellent, offering some wonderful dishes that were prepared beautifully. Thanks for a great stay!

It's a shame that breakfast was so disappointing. Running around after a teaspoon, a bit of butter, or an orange to squeeze yourself at 9 a.m. is very disappointing at €19 per person.
A Disappointing Stay Under the ‘Chef’s Flavors Stop Over’ Package
We were so looking forward to our stayed for three nights at Les Mouettes Hotel and opted for the “Regular Rate Chef’s Flavors Stop Over” – a package that included breakfast and evening meals (half board) at a significant extra cost.
Unfortunately, our experience of this hotel and offer fell far short of expectations.
At the time of booking, there was very little information provided about what this rate actually included. When we tried to clarify details with the hotel directly, no one seemed to know or be interested.
Upon arrival, the receptionist was unfamiliar with the package and said she would speak to her manager – but we never heard back from her.
At dinner on the first night we were seated in the small bar side room which had no atmosphere, despite booking the main restaurant earlier in the day.
The confusion continued when our waiter was unsure what our package entitled us to. At first, he said there was a 35€ limit per person, but later confirmed we could order from a set menu worth 52€, assuring us that each evening’s meal would be different. However, the main course on the second night was identical to the first, which left us further frustrated.
On our final night we had to explain all over again that we were on “Regular Rate Chef’s Flavors Stop Over.” We were offered the same menu again. Eventually after two consultations with his manager we were offered a choice of starter and desert with a fixed main course.
We have to say that when the food arrived it was very delicious and flavour full.
Breakfast was generally acceptable, though basic items like oranges, milk, and eggs were frequently unavailable and we had to continually ask for things to be restocked. It gave the impression of poor service, planning and/or supply.
We also found that the hotel seemed to be set up more for outside lunch and dinner guests than for residents staying on a package like ours.
There were no comfortable or designated spaces during the day for hotel guests to sit and relax.
When we asked to have a drink on the terrace at lunchtime, we were told we couldn’t because it was reserved for lunch service. It left us feeling a bit like we were in the way.
There were inconsistencies too – on our first night we asked to eat on the outside terrace but we were told evening meals would not be served on the terrace, but on the second night they were.
Overall, we found the lack of clarity, inconsistency, poor service and limited hospitality disappointing, frustrating and embarrassing – especially for a package that came at a premium price.
Many of these issues have been raised in previous reviews but clearly there is a lack of desire to address them.
Sadly we cannot recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay despite the exceptional location and views.
When checking out we heard that most of the staff were new and so unsure about how everything worked. This seems to imply a need for better staff training and communication of hotel practices.

The location of this establishment is a real asset, offering breathtaking views of the sea. The welcome is both friendly and professional, creating a convivial atmosphere. The room, although simple, is absolutely comfortable, with high-quality bedding. The restaurant is a true culinary experience, showcasing fresh and delicious products. We had a wonderful stay. Everything was very pleasant and perfect. Plus, we had an excellent dinner and breakfast by the bay windows overlooking Groix and Port-Louis... What a moment.

A wonderful stay at this exceptional hotel located right on the seafront. The bedding was of very high quality, the breakfast was generous with fresh products, and the staff were very welcoming – everything was perfect! We didn't have time to try the restaurant, but we will gladly return!
