Excellent hotel, very welcoming staff, beautiful setting. Perfect for a short, stress-free stay.

Everything was perfect, each room different, decorated with taste and originality. The troglodyte rooms and pool were especially popular with our grandchildren. With our delighted friends, there were 24 of us in total, and everyone left thrilled with our evening at Domaine de La Vignole. Thank you to Guillaume and all his staff for their kindness, availability, and the perfect organization of the evening. Thanks also to the chef of the restaurant L'Hélianthe in Turquant for the excellent buffet.

Very satisfied with our stay, I recommended it to our friends and family. The welcome was pleasant, and the place is superb (I'll come back in good weather to enjoy it even more). I didn't give it 5 stars everywhere because the lack of curtains on the window next to the front door and in the living room bothered me, and the bathroom could use a little updating. PS: There's no Wi-Fi in the bedroom, which is normal, as it's a cave room. Otherwise, it works perfectly in the rest of the apartment.

Exceptional site

This hotel captivates with its refined elegance and rare originality, thanks to its unusual troglodyte setting which lends it an absolutely unique charm. Its troglodyte swimming pool, carved into the rock, offers an extraordinary experience that is both intimate and exotic. The welcome is simply impeccable, warm, and highly professional.

A great place to remember! A friendly welcome and a very good, generous breakfast. A few minor changes, in our opinion, would be needed to earn 5 stars. A few more chairs by the pool would be very useful for leaving our belongings, as it's often used by several different families at the same time. Also, coat hooks would be helpful. The same goes for the rooms; there are very few coat hooks to hang our things on. The sauna was unavailable. A few small improvements would make for a perfect stay.

The overnight stay in the cave was a very good and unique experience. Two minor drawbacks: the bedding wasn't great; a double mattress instead of two singles would have been preferable. Also, the pool water wasn't warm enough to fully enjoy it. It's a shame the sauna was also closed for maintenance.

The staff is perfect. Professional, kind, and attentive. Beautiful decor and furnishings. The sauna and pool are too small for the number of guests, as there were three families with 11 children. There's no kettle in the rooms for making hot drinks. The soundproofing between rooms is poor, but that's to be expected in a resort of this size.

Warm welcome. We were directed straight to the pool and sauna, then to our room. However, we weren't shown the gym, nor were we seen anywhere else. The room was nice but lacked a few amenities for the number of stars. No bottled water, only two coffee capsules. No tea. The closet door didn't close properly, the handle was broken. The coffee machine was also broken. The bathtub leaked. The toilet was a bit temperamental. There was also no tissue box (useful in winter). No bathrobe rack by the pool. We had to leave them on the damp lounge chairs because of the weather. A fresh coat of paint in the rooms would be a plus. The paint was peeling and stained. A light-activated system for the window would also be helpful. However, the breakfast was excellent. The welcome was outstanding, and the location magnificent. No Wi-Fi? It's a shame, if I may say so... when we left our room at check-out time (10:50 am), the staff had already left the orange bags for cleaning the rooms in front of our door. Not very practical for leaving with luggage, and it gave the impression that they were rushing us to leave. Sincerely

We have been coming to this hotel regularly for years. The new owner is more than up to the task and is modernizing the hotel while maintaining the friendly atmosphere we have always known.

A wonderful experience. The place is unique, very pretty, and peaceful. The hosts were very welcoming and pleasant. Our suite was magnificent. We had the cave pool, heated to 28 degrees Celsius, almost entirely to ourselves. Breakfast was a buffet with fresh, local products. Dinner was also available, with small jars of food served in our room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The room is very spacious and tastefully decorated, the welcome was very friendly, and the cave pool is magnificent, even if it is not attached to the accommodations.

Beautiful place, friendly staff

We had a great time between walking, swimming, wine tasting, snack at the bar (with a small snack offered as a bonus). The room was impeccable and spacious, the bedding of excellent quality. We just have a small downside on the noise insulation (exterior door and bathroom faucets) The welcome is very warm with a team that takes great care and is present 24 hours a day. We will come back with pleasure.

Our stay at this hotel was atypical, as expected, being in cave dwellings, however we found the price high compared to the cleanliness and condition of the premises. The rooms are aging, and we saw dust. The curtains and bed skirts, yellowed by time, should be replaced. The site is very beautiful.

The team is lovely and helpful. It's a complete change of scenery. A very friendly welcome.

The staff were excellent, helpful, kind, professional, and the atmosphere was warm. I really couldn't fault it. The evening meal, with the jars on offer, was very good, accompanied by a small glass of Saumur wine at the hotel bar. Very good insulation, no noise at night! And to top it all off, an excellent breakfast with fresh, mostly organic produce.

Very good service in terms of quality of accommodation and service, very clean room and complete breakfast. The car access is very narrow at the entrance and could be the subject of a small adjustment but it is not prohibitive.

Very nice setting but review the price/quality ratio. The room is okay, the finishes need to be reviewed, the bathroom handle stayed in my hands, the paint is peeling in places, the blinds have mold. There are very few accessories (little body soap, no hair dryer for example) for the price I expected more services.

The place is very exotic. The welcome is great even if we waited a while before someone arrived. Small attention in the room. Thank you. Large room, original decoration but there are small details to be improved: window, curtains, paint, smell of paint. A large mirror and a hairdryer would be appreciated. The bed is very large but the mattress a little soft, worn. But we slept well. Nice breakfast and served late when needed. Thank you. Varied products but some homemade cakes would be a plus. The pool is superb, top setting but not that warm. We lack a place to put our things.

This review reflects our experience in the Marguerite d'Anjou troglodyte suite. There is no air conditioning and the small (very noisy) ventilation system is not sufficient compared to the surface area. The room is home to black fungi called Aspergillus niger mainly on the ceiling of the toilets. The smell, not of humidity but of mold, forced me to sleep in the car. My husband slept very badly because of the smell and the quality of the bedding, which is not up to the advertised standard. We noticed stains on the sheets (clean sheets but old, persistent stains). The private outdoor space reveals a broken glass roof with various objects inside thrown everywhere. We also deplore the condition of the swimming pool (green) which does not at all reflect the photos visible on the hotel's website (probably taken when the pool was new). The space for doing sports is not really one (a few machines, uninviting space). We reported the biggest problems to the owner, who offered us breakfast and told us that the smell was completely normal. When I got home, I asked people who had already experienced the troglodyte, and none of them had smelled mold or even damp. At €265 a night, the disappointment is still very great. I think the new owner should carry out renovation and maintenance work so that all the rooms are of the same standard and reflect the beauty of the place.

A great welcome! The hosts are charming and very kind. This establishment is full of charm! A perfect breakfast with local products. Access to the swimming pool at all hours. The most *dog friendly* is rare and it's perfect for our canine friends. Bravo to you, we will definitely come back.

Great hotel

We were very unhappy with our stay. Bad experience We thought we were in a Troglodyte room but ended up in a basic room for 140 euros which is worth a first class room A double bed but with two beds So a hole between the beds, forced to put the bed back in place during the night. And as two with hard edges, impossible to sit in the middle either. No outside view Just a skylight and a small window with no possibility of a view. To top it all off, work in another room opposite ours Even on Saturday and Sunday, which we discovered on our own, because we were not warned by the staff. So, 4 days with noise. The room not necessarily clean. Blocked sink Toilet badly damaged The TV does not work and the wifi impossible to have it Forced to turn off the big light because of a constant deafening noise The dust not done. And instead of a fan, an old noisy one Swimming pool which could have been super nice, if the water was heated. The pool was dirty, and the outside too, a carpet stagnating on the plants. The floor slippery and uncleaned, the coat racks half broken. The sports room with the broom cabinet open and that we discovered alone because no explanation was given, the same for the pool lights if we had to go there in the evening. No room for all the residents, luckily for us I am disabled and I was able to get a disabled place. Unfortunately I had to postpone my stay twice following an accident hence my disability today, but originally I had requested a cave room but no one warned us of the change

A unique place. A discovery. Nestled in the rock, it's quite incredible. The rooms are spacious. And the pool really makes the difference. Open all night. Heated. Set into the hillside... magical. The welcome is friendly. It's well decorated. Lots of charm. The breakfast room and parking lot are a bit small. But it's definitely worth doing.

We booked a one-night stay for 4. We had a great time. The breakfast is super varied. We will come back to see the improvements made in the coming months.

I offered a night in this hotel for my mom's birthday, we loved it! The hotel is magnificent, the rates are really not expensive, I was pleasantly surprised by the prices when I saw that it was a 3-star hotel and even more so when I saw the hotel and the room! The swimming pool is accessible 24 hours a day, it was at the ideal temperature for me (still a little cool for my mom who is very sensitive to the cold). The dishes are divinely good, only local and fresh products, the grapes are excellent and the little dog of the hotel is a real ball of love, even my mother who hates dogs loved him! The welcome was great, the owners are lovely and following a small leak in the bathtub of our room they offered us breakfast which was just as good between the fruit juices, pastries, fresh eggs everything was perfect I recommend this incredible hotel 100% for an immersive, original and pleasant experience.

Remarkable hotel in a remarkable location

The location and the swimming pool are unusual.

A very special location, albeit one that's showing its age. The pool, like the rooms, could use some renovation, and the fitness room is lacking in care. Everywhere, something spoils the overall look: the shower head keeps falling off, a non-working outlet, it could be cleaned better, the caretaker sometimes leaves things lying around in the fitness room—many little things that spoil the overall impression and don't justify the price. Some of the mosaic tiles in the apartment bathroom are missing—an absolute no-go!

Room No. 8 has a decoration and colors that are in no way reminiscent of the troglodyte site.

Unique experience in a unique place. Very spacious and charming troglodyte suite (Marguerite d'Anjou), small private garden, incredible troglodyte pool, troglodyte gym... we dreamed of it and we were amazed. The welcome by a young team was perfect, very professional and friendly. The hearty breakfast delighted children and parents. And the big plus was the warm welcome given to our dog, who also loved her stay. Very well located in relation to various sites to visit and good restaurants. An exceptional address where we will return with pleasure. Thank you again for these unforgettable moments.

Accommodation that fits perfectly into a tourist getaway where you are looking for the "Wow" effect that you don't find everywhere. A smiling, courteous staff + manager, who do everything possible to offer you a tourist experience that you will remember and that will make you want to come back (especially considering the upcoming work).

An unusual place. I booked this place, expecting a different quality of service, given the price. At first glance, the environment is pleasant and original. When you settle into the room, you realize that there is a lack of kindness that undermines the reputation of the place. (Moldy curtains, moldy lower walls under windows. In the bathroom, deteriorated walls, unmaintained tiles, completely rusty toilet paper holder, old sink, rusty chair leg. Bathroom door that doesn't close. And most importantly for accommodation, bedding that needs to be changed. As for the pool, it's really unusual to swim in this place. At the time we swam (after 8 p.m.), the pool area wasn't really clean. I really expected a different service given the price. A little more kindness regarding the maintenance and presentation of the site wouldn't go amiss for this site to be truly attractive. I wouldn't really recommend it.

An unusual and very enjoyable experience. The pool is a plus, especially considering its opening hours. There are no restrictions, allowing for a moment of relaxation at any time during your stay, even at night.

We liked the pool, which was open at night and was very nice. Dog friendly! The rooms are large but it was very hot. There was an unsecured window in the room which was the only way to get air. We would have liked to have tea/coffee making facilities and a small fridge.

We were not very satisfied with the hotel. Positive points: - friendly owners - large room - large, comfortable mattress Negative points: - very uncomfortable pillows (worn out, big balls of material inside) - rather dirty toilet (lots of limescale at the bottom, didn't smell good when we arrived) - only 1 1/2 rolls of toilet paper for 2 nights - cleaning not done between the two nights (this was not indicated to us) - only one towel rack, too small for a large towel and far from the sink - very disappointing breakfast (industrial products, madeleines in plastic, industrial goat cheese even though the hotel is close to a region with very good goat cheese) - noisy (the owners talked loudly until late in the evening the 2nd night, right under our window, which prevented us from sleeping with the window open even though it was very hot; no soundproofing of the front door) - dated decoration - light for the toilet inside the bathroom - no wifi The overnight stay was not cheap, so we are very disappointed value for money.

This is a hotel where you feel good. The staff is very friendly, they make you feel comfortable and they offer very good advice.

Regular stay in this hotel which is very good however we noticed some small changes: the swimming pool was not very clean at the end of the day (a shame when new guests arrived); for breakfast, the tables are not set outside (you have to ask) and local products are less present on the buffet. Too bad!

Nothing negative. Very friendly welcome and attentive staff. There were 10 of us celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with our children and grandchildren. Pleasant stay. Atypical hotel that you must discover with its swimming pool and its troglodyte rooms as well as its region.

Very nice cottage overall. A bit of a wait upon our arrival but we were very well received afterwards. Our room (6) is a bit dated with rather rustic furniture in the bathroom in particular and a little cleaning of the cobwebs would be nice. The bedding is nevertheless very comfortable, just missing a proper bed that would hide my box springs. The light is however quite noisy we used the bedside and desk lamps. The trash can does not match the style. And one or two rugs would make the room more cozy. Our reservation was also late, the day before for the next day. Perhaps we would have had a more cared for room if we had booked before. Regarding the breakfasts, it was perfect, plentiful and good. The troglodyte pool is very pleasant with a good temperature. The place could nevertheless be made more pleasant by removing the leaves around and in the pool and tidying the tarpaulin at the entrance. The whole thing was perfectly fine and we will happily return. Thank you for this stay.

At the beginning of June, we were 3 ladies sharing the troglodyte apartment, our first Troglo experience! First observation: the place is charming but the apartment is damp and dark because of the old-fashioned period furniture, but the manager assures us that the decor needs to be redone... Second observation: the lack of soundproofing, the apartment overlooking the indoor pool open 24/7... bad idea for peace and quiet! Third observation: the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are perfect, but the rooms lack heating when it's humid! Finally, no phone network inside the accommodation.

Be careful to empty the bathroom trash can and replace the missing bulb in the mirror. Otherwise, great bedding and great welcome from the boss.

When we arrived, there was no humidity and the heating was working in the cave suite #9. The temperature was pleasant. The accommodation was clean and well-equipped. The 27-step spiral staircase leading up to the room may be a problem for some, and the dim lighting needs to be reviewed. It would have been a good idea to provide glasses in the bathroom. Some switches are not easily accessible.

A very pleasant weekend in a quiet and magical place. The bedding in one of the three beds needs to be reviewed, but we were able to discuss it with the new owner (3 months old), who noted the improvements to be made. He is very attentive and offers good advice for restaurants in the surrounding area. Thank you again.

Very nice discovery, children and grandchildren delighted by the discovery of the troglodyte suite and the swimming pool in the cave, an extraordinary moment with the family. The weak point: the coffee maker at breakfast not adapted to the number of guests, very average coffee and access to the buffet complicated in case of crowds. The staff very welcoming

Unusual accommodation in a bucolic setting with an atypical swimming pool. Very generous breakfast buffet. The new owner is very welcoming and wants to bring a lot of renovations to this place. The room lacks a small kettle and a box of tissues.

We appreciated: - the unusual and bucolic side - the cozy and authentic decor - the simple and family atmosphere - the terrace to have breakfast with the birds singing (even if the weather did not allow us to enjoy it) - the personalized rooms, all different - the parking - and of course the very warm swimming pool (29 degrees) Note: dogs are welcome!

The staff is very friendly and attentive. The troglodyte pool is superb. The unique troglodyte suite offers a lovely sunny terrace in the morning. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful, and the local produce is plentiful.

A very warm welcome from the owner. Exceptional, unusual accommodation in this family suite. Our daughters enjoyed this relaxing moment in the pool, heated to 28°C. The breakfast was buffet-style, with a variety of homemade products. Much appreciated.

Unusual place, very warm welcome.

Very nice, unusual hotel. It would need some updating (this is apparently planned for the pool). Our room (landscape suite) was very pleasant but there were a few small drawbacks... the bathroom furniture, although magnificent, would need to be repaired and some spiders had not been removed upon our arrival, as well as the presence of ants... The big negative point is the breakfast, which is much too expensive for what is offered. To end on a very positive note, the welcome and availability of the young hotelier is wonderful.

The room was clean however there was visible mould on the second floor which gave off a musty smell.

We spent 2 nights with friends in the family suite in the troglodyte cellar, the heated swimming pool three steps away, it was fantastic. The generous breakfast with organic products.

In the morning, when I went to the pool at 8 a.m., I would have appreciated it if it had been lit. Overall, we had a very good time. I recommend this quiet establishment, with beautiful views and very friendly staff.

We had a wonderful family stay on March 29 and 30, 2025, at the Demeure de la Vignole. The place is simply magnificent, full of charm and calm. A big thank you to the owner for his warm welcome, his availability, and his great sense of service. He was attentive throughout our stay, with real attention paid to the comfort of everyone, including our children. The entire team was lovely, professional, and attentive. A place we highly recommend, and where we will return with great pleasure!

A Logis hotel to discover, with a great location for exploring the region. A warm welcome, we stayed in the typical troglodyte apartment; the spaces, bathrooms, and bedding are superb. The underfloor heating was really pleasant. We were able to enjoy the pool, which is really nice under this cave. The small drawbacks: the main door doesn't lock, there's no TV in the master bedroom, no Wi-Fi access, a few degrees warmer at the pool would be appreciated, and a few additional options at breakfast (cake, spread, cereal, cold milk, scrambled eggs, for example). However, the establishment is worth discovering.

A well-known hotel that disappointed us a little upon arrival. Some electrical and toilet issues in the room. A pool that wasn't as attractive as the photos. The big positive is the staff's welcome and kindness. After talking with the newly arrived manager, we were reassured about the few negative comments we had and discovered the future improvements planned, which will only enhance the quality of this hotel.

Very pleasant welcome, dynamic and smiling team. Everything is well thought out to be able to enjoy the troglodyte pool (bathrobe, slippers). The massage service is high quality, adjusted according to needs. Delicious and generous breakfast: choice and quality at the rendezvous! Nous avons logé dans cet hôtel durant 4 nuits, avec mon fils de cinq ans.
Nous avions réservé l’appartement troglodytique, à propos duquel voici quelques informations utiles.
L’appartement est bien plus spacieux et mieux équipé que sur les photos du site.
Il dispose deux chambres et est idéal pour un couple avec deux enfants. Il y a un lit d’appoint supplémentaire mais rudimentaire pour une cinquième personne.
L’appartement est vraiment bien équipé, avec une salle de bain et une salle de douche, un lave-linge et un sèche-linge.
La cuisine dispose d’un vrai four et d’un lave-vaisselle.
Gardez en tête que l’accès arrière donne sur la piscine et que cela peut générer du bruit audible depuis l’appartement, surtout en été.
Il y a également un accès avant.
Le chauffage par le sol est impeccable et il n’y a aucune humidité à l’intérieur même en hiver (début mars).
Les lieux sont vraiment originaux et plein de charme.
Si vous y résidez, je vous conseille de visiter le château de Brézé qui dispose de sous-terrains troglodytiques jamais vus ailleurs.
Guillaume, le nouveau propriétaire, est de très bon conseil et apporte beaucoup de soin à proposer un petit-déjeuner local et gourmand.
L’accès au parking peut être étroit si vous disposez d’un grand SUV type Q8 ou autre.
Renseignez-vous.
Et bien entendu, la piscine est très sympa. Un peu fraîche en hiver dû à la température extérieure mais chauffée entre 27-29 degrés. On s’y baigne avec plaisir.
L'appartement ne dispose pas de connexion internet Wi-Fi et le signal 4G ne passe qu'à proximité de la porte d'entrée (faible).

A brand new Team. Very welcoming, cheerful, available, attentive to making the stay pleasant. The setting is original and very beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and those in troglodytes particularly attractive. This Residence is well suited to family reunions. Varied breakfast with good local products. Original and "tasty" concept for other meals: dishes cooked in jars by a regional craftsman.
