The hotel is in a great location. The owners and staff are very welcoming. And there's a very good restaurant too. You couldn't ask for more!

Customer service is great. Breakfast is expensive. rooms are ok but toilets in room are very small and narrow. Rooms are tidy and views are beautiful. Rooms a little dated but that's ok.
We were accused of taking pillow , the single bed which we do not use have no pillow when we arrived

A very pleasant and warm welcome. Very clean, very good bedding. However, for a 3 star hotel and given the price of €216 per night (for a large room with 3 beds), some small things made us tick: no coffee machine or kettle, the toiletries included 2 towels per person, no small individual soap or cotton. In some much cheaper hotels we even had slippers and a refrigerator... Important to know and we didn't know this when booking (unless I misread, in which case I apologize), our room was on the other side of the road (so we had to cross for breakfast and payment)
Very well located hotel, with a beautiful view of the Dronne. Good service, and good breakfast. In areas for improvement, the rooms are a little small, not air-conditioned (it was over thirty degrees, with an asthmatic fan). Although the staircase is very beautiful, an elevator would be a nice addition.

If you, as I do. share an interest in experiencing the best France has to offer a travelling American, you must put the Charbonnelle on your itinerary. This is a community the French prize as a prime vacation destination for good reason. It's a beautiful place to be, nestled in a bucolic spot on the pristine River Drome, featuring the 12th century cobblestones, stone mansions and churches that characterize medieval France. Contrast this with the superior modern comfort of the hotel and the bespoke courteous hospitality of the hotel staff, and you will be ready to elevate the senses with the most delicious and exquisite five course meal you've ever tasted. Unforgettable, worth every moment, not to be missed. Need I say more? Go. You deserve this reward.

Disappointed with the location of the room, located in an annex opposite the hotel, on the second floor without elevator, without private parking, the soundproofing needs to be reviewed, a view of the rear on other houses (and not on the drone, as the site on the advertisement) and the standard of the photos comfort and space not up to scratch. Fortunately cleanliness and welcome very good Reservation on booking.com
It's always a pleasure to stay at this hotel. A warm welcome and excellent service. Our room overlooking the river was very comfortable, with a very large and practical bathroom. The restaurant offers delicious dishes accompanied by excellent service. Breakfast on the hotel terrace on the banks of the Dronne is perfect. The team takes great care of its guests. A very pleasant stay.
Exceptional location; no elevator, but the staff was efficient and lent a helping hand when needed. Don't forget to order, among other things, the cheese plate with honey from the honeycomb and cherry coulis!
It's a shame that there's no air conditioning or a ceiling fan that circulates the air much better than the "gadget" in the bedroom.
Very nice establishment, both hotel and restaurant, the only downside is that there is no air conditioning in the rooms in the annex.
We returned to the Charbonnel Hotel after a first visit a few years ago during which we enjoyed this hotel and restaurant establishment.
The place is relaxing, very beautiful city, lots of things to discover. With our children and grandchildren we had an excellent and unforgettable stay.
